Malaysia, another important Southeast Asian market, announced a 10% sales tax on imports after Indonesia raised the import tariff on 1,147 items to 10%. Recently, the Malaysian government announced the reintroduction of the Sales Services Tax (SST) to replace the GST. About 40% of goods and services will be taxed.
